We Are Passionate About Farming

Our Story

Lilydale Farms is a small family-run farm on 150 acres of fertile land located in the Lockyer Valley, Qld which is well known nationally for high-quality produce and supplying a large proportion of Australia with a wide variety of vegetables and premium varieties of hay.

Since I was a child, I have been surrounded by Farming and Agriculture. My passion for farming began on my grandfather’s farm in Mungindi, QLD where I would take time off school to rake hay and learn about the important role agriculture plays in our nation. This passion and interest continued throughout my formative years where I studied Agriculture in Highschool and later completed a bachelor in Agriculture Science and Rural Management at the University Of Queensland.

Farming of any kind is not easy. In fact, it is a constant challenge that I find incredibly rewarding when you get it right. It is equally frustrating at times, constantly trying to plan your next move around the unpredictable climate and our precious water resources.

I have learnt to always expect the unexpected and never count your chickens before they hatch. We believe that in order to consistently produce A-grade hay you need to love what you do and value your clients and their animal’s needs.

At Lilydale farms this means ensuring we have good quality equipment and machinery, we plan harvest times carefully, we rake hay when the moisture levels are just right and store all of our baled hay in a fully enclosed shed on a concrete floor to maintain colour and quality. This helps us to deliver produce that is of a high standard and perfect for feeding horses, cattle, sheep, lambs, goats, alpacas and deer.

Locally Grown In The Lockyer Valley

Premium Horse Feed

We are committed to maintaining a high quality of hay to support your young foal, growing mayor or show horse. This starts with our seed selection and finishes with harvesting and maturing of our beardless barley hay.

We ensure all seeds are sourced ethically and are pure seedless barley so that there is no risk of splinters affecting the feed your horse ingests.

The taste and smell of our beardless barley is sweet and palatable for fussy eaters to enjoy. We supply our hay in small rectangular bales or big round bales for owners who need larger quantities of feed.

Quality Feed For Livestock

Whether you have dairy cows, beef cows or bulls we offer prime silage hay that has been carefully harvested, inoculated and wrapped to ensure the taste and smell is appealing to your stock.

It’s important that the quality of our feed is enjoyable by your livestock so that they receive the nutrients required to mature properly and remain in peak condition.
Silage hay is wrapped and supplied in big round bales. We can supply small and large orders easily and welcome new clients who wish to become a regular buyer.

Hay That Your Sheep Will Love

Supplementary feeding of sheep, with grain, hay or silage is necessary when pastures or stubble are deficient in energy and protein.

Lilydale Farms can supply a variety of grassy hay to suit your supplementary feeding program and support the maintenance of healthy livestock.

We take extra care to ensure hay is baled and stored inside a fully enclosed shed. Our processes ensure your livestock are in good hands and will love feeding on the hay grown at Lilydale Farms.

Partner With Us

Secure ongoing feed requirements for your needs

We are a family owned farm and are looking to build relationships with new clients who wish to commit to advance orders. This means we will take your needs into consideration before we plant our next crop, guaranteeing feed for your animals when you need it.

Don't Get Caught Out By Shortages Again

Avoid settling for sub-standard quality when drought conditions strike

No one wants to buy poor quality / sub standard produce if they can avoid it. Unfortunately during the last drought, we saw extended periods where animal owners were desperate for hay and had to consider whether they keep animals or spend considerable monies to purchase scarcely available produce.
